How to Block User in Facebook

When it comes to social networking websites, we need to be safe while using them. Some major social networking websites are linkedin, Google+, Facebook etc., few of us know the vulnerability in using these websites, but few of them don’t have much knowledge in using it. One of the popular social networking website is Facebook were more than 800 million active users (according to Facebookstatistics 2011).
In Facebook day-by-day we are getting so many unknown friend request, application request, event request, message etc. though we reject application or user request, still some unknown people will send the request. Today I’m going to explain how to block those unwanted user and applications in Facebook.

Login to Facebook first. Click the inverted triangle on the right side of top menu, and then click "Privacy Settings" from the drop down menu.

Now you will be redirected to privacy settings page. In this page you will find a link "Manage Blocking" at the bottom of the page.

Click the Manage Blocking link, doing the same you will be redirected to another page were you can manage your blocking list.

"Add friends to your restricted list" What it means?

In our friends list we may have some unavoidable person, to restrict them from seeing private post and activities, Facebook provided option for this. Once user added in restricted list, they can see only public post and activities.

To restrict friend click on the link "edit list". In the pop-up window click on the inverted triangle, now click on the friends tab, click on the person you want to add to restricted list then click done.

Suppose if you would like to give access to restricted friend click on the link "edit list". In the pop-up window click on the inverted triangle, uncheck the person you want to remove from restricted list then click done.

You can block unknown users in two way, either by email or by their name. Enter their name and click on the block button, if two or more user have same name pop-up window will open, to block specific person click on the block button at the right corner of that person.

To remove blocked user click on the remove link as shown in the picture above. You will get an confirmation pop-up window, click confirm button.

To block application invitation or an event request, type the name of your friend in their respective textbox (Apps textbox or event textbox), an auto suggestion list will be listed below while you typing the name, select the person from the list.
